It's hard to believe it's the last week of summer! Last week Linds and I picked up some snacks and sandwich goods at Whole Foods and enjoyed a cozy little end of summer picnic under a giant willow tree at Trout Lake Park. I love this place and every time I come here I wonder why I don't more often. The weather this week has certainly felt fall like, we both picked up some rain jackets last weekend because we've never owned any! I don't know how I've lived here my whole life and never owned one, it's already been the best purchase I've made in a long time. I know that very soon I'll be spending many fall and winter rainy days chasing a puddle loving toddler with a baby strapped to my chest! And now I've got the right rain gear to keep me dry ;)
p.s. we snatched them up at Nettles Tale Shop in Gastown! They just got in Rains Journal and they're amaaazing.
Also, just looking at these photos makes me feel all warm and fuzzy thinking about fall days coming up. Maybe you're not one of those people who loves the autumn transition like us crazies. But the cool, crisp air and crunchy leaves just make me want to bake all the pumpkin loaves and drink chai tea. Dan and I are really looking forward to this season with our new baby girl, everyone around us seems to be picking up the pace, getting back to routine and school etc. Life for us seems to be just slowing down and shifting in an entirely different way, and we're so excited.
Got this pretty vintage Mexican blanket from my friends shop The Oak Closet > shop her Insta here!
