A Month of Merriment // Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine is one of my favourite recipes for the winter season, it has such a festive and cozy feel when people are over and theres a pot of mulled wine steeping on the stove. It smells amazing, and keeps you warm. When deciding on a seasonal drink recipe to share, we were torn between a mulled wine, or cider inspired cocktail... and then we thought, let's put them together! This recipe is an easy to make hybrid of spiced cider & classic mulled red wine. 


  • 1 750ml bottle red wine
  • 4 Tbs Mulling Spices 
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • 10-20oz Apple Juice (to taste)
  • Bourbon (Optional) 

Place the spices into a loose leaf tea ball or tea bag and add the mulling spices, red wine, and apple juice to a pot and bring to a simmer for 15 minutes over medium heat. Serve in mugs or glasses with a cinnamon stick and add a shot of bourbon if desired. Enjoy!
