There is something so great about guilt-free day drinks when it's paired with incredible food, sunshine-y patios, and good conversation. Hellooo Happy Hour! Tegan and I have been loving working in Gastown, but man it is HARD on our pockets. There are so many incredible restaurants right within a 5-minute walking distance of our studio, so we have been really searching for all the best Happy Hours!
Expedia.ca recently featured some of Vancouver’s hidden gem bars and restaurants but they wanted to dive even further into Vancouver’s drink scene. They challenged us to take it a step further and bring you a list of our Happiest of Vancouver’s Happy Hours.
First off, we decided to hit Nicli Antica Pizzeria for Margherita Pizza and half off craft beer & cocktails from 3 to 6pm. Pizza or tacos are our go-to when we're heading out to grab a bite. Nicli's is just a few blocks away and it's a cozy and quiet little corner to settle in with a delicious $3 beer and wood-fire pizza.
The staff here are so friendly, every time I have gone I always have such a great experience. The pizza is deliiiiiiicious, probably my favourite in the city!
I had the most incredible beer, it was Powell Street Witbier with Ginger & Cardamom. Such a perfect and refreshing summer beer - spiced wheat ale, complex, bright and zesty. Lately, I have been obsessed with anything ginger, and this beer was top notch.
Tegan went for the half off classic cocktail and got a tasty Negroni. We absolutely love Niclis pizza with fluffy crust and thin centre, couldn't be better (hungry yet?). Last time we were there we got the special, all I remember is that there was an egg cracked into the centre before they threw it in the oven, it was SO GOOD! We drizzled it with their rosemary oil glaze and gobbled it up so fast.
If you are feeling hungry and want a good Happy Hour, try Appy Hour at The Flying Pig! Their 4 to 6pm menu is unreal. All appys are $6 and they are ALL incredible. So much fun to order a few to share with a group of friends! Of course with a glass of house wine or beer ;)
If you have time to catch some tunes, head on over to Revel Room from 4 to 6pm Tuesday through Saturday! $6 Sours, $5 Craft beer, and $9 tipsy pour wines. Such a fun environment and the live music is such a treat.
If you are feeling like getting classy earlier on in the afternoon, hit up Medina Cafe for "Golden Hour" from 2 to 3pm Monday to Friday. They have a few $7 cocktails (for example, Lemon Myrtle-infused Gin, lemongrass, fresh lemon juice, mint, egg white, Marrakech Aromatic) along with draught beer for $5. Medina is known for their amazing waffles, which make the perfect afternoon snack.
Now I'm getting hungry, and it's almost that time of day ;) See you at Happy Hour!
