Turmeric & Almond Milk Tea

We're embracing Spring in all it's glory! It's only a few weeks away, and we're loving our walks to the studio these days getting soooaaked. Ok maybe not loving getting absolutely drenched, and being unprepared for it, (for some reason we never learn and bring umbrellas!) Once we're cozy inside though, slippers, kettles, sweaters on, the rain is enjoyable.

I used to drink multiple cups of coffee a day, but I've slowly weaned myself off (down to 1!) and am finding other yummy cups of warmth to enjoy throughout my day. I recently saw someone post this turmeric tea recipe on instagram (can't remember who!) and gave it a try. I instantly fell in love, especially after reading all of the benefits of turmeric, it's something I'm trying to drink more of! It's super easy to make, a bit sweet, creamy, and delicious!

First make the turmeric paste:
in a saucepan, mix 1/4 cup turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of ground pepper, and 1/2 cup of filterd water. heat until it turns into a paste and then let it cool in a jar in the fridge.

For the tea:
1.5 cups almond milk
1 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp turmeric paste

heat these three ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly but don't let it come to a boil.

Pour it into a mug with 1 tsp of honey, sprinkle with lots of cinnamon!
