Valentines day is right around the corner and we've been filling our studio with all the ❤ ❤ ❤. We made this simple DIY using some sturdy wire from Home Depot, yarn and a glue gun. We have it hanging in our studio window and are spreading the love to allllllll of Gastown.
This part is the most finicky, start at the bottom "v" of the heart and make a bend in the wire. Then shape the rest of your heart using some patience. If you're going to make yours this big you may need to awkwardly use all of your limbs to shape it, or a friend to hold down the wire that will fly in all directions as you're trying to shape it. (Don't laugh until you try it! HA) Twist the middle top of the heart together a few times before cutting it free from the roll of wire.
Using a hot glue gun, start by securing the end of the yarn in place. Then pull the yarn across to the other end of the wire heart, wrap it around the wire and glue it in place. Continue doing this in different zig-zag patterns, gluing it in place each time it touches the wire so the yarn stays put.
Once you're happy with the design, follow along the outline of the wire heart to cover up the wire. Again, gluing it in place as you go!
