Studio Hacks

We thought it would be fun to put together a post on a few tips on creating beautiful, simple, photos for your blog. My house has pretty much been our studio for the past 9 months and we're so excited to change that. Since Hazel was born it's been getting a bit crammed and takes a lot of work, table clearing, and shuffling of things to do photos most days!  We've loved it though, it's been a lot of fun having later work days, slow mornings, without a long commute! We're SO excited to get into a studio space and have a lot of room to work with, there's beautiful natural lighting, tall ceilings and old wood floors. The space is pretty dreamy and we feel so privileged to start working there, so before we move into this picture-perfect space, we thought we should show a little bit of what we've been working with ;)

All you need is one *white* wall. There's a lot you can do with a big plain wall! We use this one in my apartment a lot, which means moving things a lot.

... and sometimes I knock over alllll of the records (sorry dan!)

Wood floor makes a big difference for photos, we have a few different colours of boards and we pull them out and use them over the carpet! It's a small detail that makes a big difference, you can see in the photo below how a little bit of editing can totally change the look of of my ugly carpeted living room.

There are a few examples below of how we use them to take photos of recipes and lately loving posts.

A few examples of how we've touched up the photos to make them look just that much more clean. Let us know if you have any questions, we'd love to help answer them!
