We have so many amazing things to say about Whistler, BC. We found our way up the mountain after driving along the sea to sky highway, which in itself is the most stunning drive. It was such a relaxing and much needed escape from the city. As soon as we left the hustle and bustle and meandered up and down the winding mountainous drive, listening to the magical music of Patrick Watson, we were ready for adventure.
Our first adventure was the Tree Trek Tour with Zip Trek. We got up nice and early and started the day off walking atop the trees in the very crisp mountain air. It was breathtaking. Let's be honest, we're not the most outdoorsy gals, we love the ocean, camping and being outdoors, but we just don't do it enough! This was such a fun time for us, it really felt like an escape. Whistler in the Summer is amazing, there are endless trails for hiking, zip lining, paddle boarding, there's SO much to explore!
Now let's talk a bit about food! We went out for dinner to the most amazing restaurant called Aura in Nita Lake Lodge. We love to be wined and dined and we were treated so well. They have amazing vegan & gluten free options and have a potato gnocchi that's to DIE for. Nita Lake has a cafe as well that we walked to on our last morning there which completely satisfied our morning coffee & pastry craving.
We hit up the La Cantina for lunch and even went back for a second round. We looooooove our tacos, and these were delicioso! Our favs were the pork belly and the cubana.
We took the gondola up the mountain and did a little exploring before we rode the Peak 2 Peak. Being surrounded by such picturesque beauty just doesn't get old. We took a thousand pictures and walked and walked and enjoyed the quiet and took it all in.
We were a tiny bit freaked while riding the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, let's just say it's definitely an experience, and not ideal for those who are afraid of heights. It was amazing though, we were lucky to get such a beautiful, warm day, and once we got over the initial "take off" (see video below!) we really enjoyed it!
We stayed at Legends in Creekside, which is just down the hill from Whistler Village. Such a cozy, and comfortable spot. It's a few blocks away from the best ever pizza, around the corner from the lake, and not too far from the most amazing bakery we've ever been to. Next time you're in Whistler, you must hit up Purebread. Try your best to decide which cookie or pastry to take with you! (hardest decision of the trip).
