Cake Pops are one of my favourite treats, whenever I'm in Starbucks I try to fight the urge but right before I insert my debit I usually crumble... "annnd a birthday cake pop please!". This recipe is just as simple as your classic cake pops but they look like cute mini ice cream cones.
Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops //
1 boxed vanilla cake mix
1 can frosting
2 cups white melting chips
handful cherry jelly bellies
1 box Waffle or Sugar Cones
Bake the cake according to directions on the box, once it's baked and cooled, use a fork to turn the entire cake into crumbs. Next add half the container of frosting and mix. Add frosting until you have a good smooth "dough" that will hold a round shape easily.
Scoop a heaping tablespoon of the "dough" and roll into balls.
Cut the cones to a smaller size in proportion to your cake pops. Push the cones securely into the bottom of the cake pops, and place on a parchment paper lined tray in the freezer.
Melt your melting chips and add the food colouring of your choice. Remove the cake pops from the freezer and dip into the melting chocolate.
Cut a cherry jelly belly in half and place on top of each cake pop. Place the cake pops back on the parchment paper line tray and put into the freezer to set.
