A Month of Beaches // Tegan at Sandy Cove

I think this is my new favourite beach! It's a bit off the beaten trail and I don't know if I just caught it on a good day or not but the water was amazing. The water was clear and the waves were perfect. With all of the islands blocking us, our Vancouver beaches are normally pretty calm, which is great, but I love swimming in the waves. Sandy Cove is in West Van, down at the bottom of a windy steep road that you would miss if you blinked. Nestled in between gorgeous beach front homes, it's a small strip of sandy beach with massive rocky coves. It's the perfect spot to go on a weekday morning when you know there would only be a handful of people.

The beach is my haven. Give me a good book, fresh fruit, and some guacamole and I can spend the day and night here. I've been living in Vancouver for a year and a half now and since moving from Surrey into the city I have grown to LOVE and appreciate our local beaches like never before. I've made it my goal this Summer to discover and escape whenever I get a chance. So if you are a fellow Vancouverite with beaches to share, let me know in the comments below, I know there are so many to discover! It blows me away whenever I find a stunning spot like this one, it makes me feel so incredibly thankful that I live in such a beautiful place.
