Last weekend we had a watermelon themed bridal shower for our good friend Kir. Tegan, Lindsay, and I are all Bridesmaids in her wedding and we are all seriously excited to stand up there beside her a month from now!
For her shower we gathered together all of her good girlfriends and had an afternoon of eating, playing games, and opening gifts. Which then turned into an impromptu backyard BBQ with all the guys joining, It was a great day. Felt like a little pre-wedding party!
The table was filled with pink and green foods to go along with the theme. Guacamole (Kir's personal favourite), Veggies, Watermelon slices on a stick, donuts, candy, and Watermelon shortbread cookies which were so so cute! Recipe found here.
The games that we played were "How well do you know the bride & groom?" (shown below), and Bridal Catchphrase which we will share in a future post! For prizes I wanted to stick with the theme colours so we did a bottle of Pellegrino + a bottle of Ikea's Elderflower Syrup, so yummy, and we tied them together with a couple straws and a little "Yay" tag.
All of the photos above were taken by one of dear friends and talented photographer, Elissa Crowe.
We created printable versions of all the stationary that was used at the shower so that you can throw your own fun and colourful watermelon shower!
The printables include the"How well do you know the bride & groom?" Trivia game, "Yay" prize tags, and a recipe card which you can have your guests fill out with one of their favourite recipes for the brides kitchen.
The adorable watermelon painting was generously lent to us for our designs by Marianne Glass. Check out her site, facebook, and twitter for more artwork and updates. She is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for!
