These are some of our favourite places to go for beer in Vancouver! Starting from top to bottom we will tell you why!
Alibi Room: We don't need to say much more than the fact that they have 50 taps of local and imported craft beer. Vancouver's best selection of BC's finest, we promise you they will have multiple beers you would love! They are located on the edge of Gastown in a 100 year old heritage building. They have a tasty menu perfect for pairing with the beer of your choice, full of quality comfort foods.
Brassneck: One of Vancouver's newest breweries. Brassneck sells itss beer right at the brewery, either by the glass in its tasting room or “to go” in growlers (resealable glass bottles.) We love the inviting interior of the brewery which is constructed from reclaimed wood, (the bones of a 130 year old mill) and lots of concrete. It has the feel of an old tavern, it definitely is the perfect fit for the little corner it's nestled in just off of Main street.
33 Acres: Aesthetically pleasing with big bright windows and white walls, lots of plants and simple decor, it's easy to feel very comfortable in here. Not only are the owners and staff incredibly kind, they have amazing beer. They do growler fills daily, something I personally love to take home with me whenever I go! One thing a bit unique is they have a weekly food truck! You can grab a bite and bring it inside to enjoy with a beer, pretty fun. They have a perfect little selection of snacks perfect for sharing as well (we love the Bestie board!) Waffle weekend is my new favourite thing. The recipe is always changing, from London fog (earl grey with vanilla butter!) bourbon waffles with bitters butter, beer waffle ice cream sandwiches, oh and of course they serve amazing pour over coffee to go with your waffles!
Portland Craft: We love the concept behind Portland Craft, Portland being one of our favourite places to escape to for a long weekend, it's nice to have a place close to home that offers food inspired by Portland's wonderful food scene paired with some of their finest beers! Also, they're open late, which is a perfect alternative to a $2 slice for an after-show food and drink!
Four Winds: A small craft brewery that focuses on West Coast, Belgian and German style beers. They are a little bit out of the city just off of River Road in Delta, but it is sure worth the drive. They have crafted some very unique beers like the Wildflower Saison, as well as one of my favourite the Saison Brett - this beer spent six months fermenting away inside six used wine barrels from BC’s own Burrowing Owl and Stag’s Hollow wineries.
I have to say we're excited about this sudden growth in Craft Beer that has spread throughout Vancouver over the last few years, it's given us a new appreciation for the art of brewing and learning about the unique flavours and characters in different kinds of beer.
