DIY // Homemade Chevron candles

I've wanted to make candles for so long! So last night I got together with my friend Chantal and we finally did it! It was really easy, and not as messy as I had anticipated...

1. Have your supplies ready: Melting Wax, wicks, something to make your candle in (ex. vase, tea cup, jar), a pot, and crayons if you want to dye the wax. (Chantal ordered her wax and wicks from ebay and it was wayyy cheaper than from a craft store!)

2. Melt the wax on low heat and stir every few seconds. Add any crayons for colour, You'll be surprised at how little crayon you need to get the colour!

3. Place the wick in the center of your vase

4. Once melted, pour the wax into your vase. We made this crappy funnel out of tin foil because we didn't own a funnel. I reccommend a funnel to keep the side of the vase clean.

Let cool. You can place it in the freezer, or leave it on the counter overnight.

Chevron Pattern:

I have been in love with these Washi Tapes that I ordered off etsy. They're super fun for decorating and wrapping pretty presents. They were perfect for the outside of the candle, because they are slightly transparent and the light shines through them!
