House on Manzanita // Dreamy Oregon Vacation Rental

I had the privilege of staying at this beautiful beachside home in Manzanita early in June. Oregon is a place close to my heart, the coast is full of beautiful small towns all with such unique character! I've stayed in Seaside and further South near Coos Bay before, but never in Manzanita, and I most definitely will be coming back. It's the cutest small town that doesn't have the touristy feel like Cannon Beach, but it's only about a 20-minute drive further south. We loved trying out the small local restaurants and our daily visits to The Little Little Apple grocery store to pick up food for meals and of course to grab some salt water taffy (Hazel knew just where to find it and could make her one piece last a good 20 minutes!)

We immediately fell in love with this bright and cozy beachside cottage. It was the perfect size for us three and could have comfortably fit a few more people! There are two rooms (which is always luxurious not having to share a room, we all sleep just that much better!) The couch pulls out into a bed as well so we could easily fit a few more people! We're secretly dreaming of coming back every summer ;) The big open living room and kitchen were perfect for hanging out, meals were so fun to make, we made most of our meals in and the kitchen had everything we needed! Even a bbq, we cooked up some fresh fish and grilled some pineapple, it was delicious. I've definitely stayed at Airbnb's where it just doesn't quite have everything on hand to make cooking easy, but everything was as out fingertips, it made us feel right at home.

Living in an apartment we can't just open the door and let Hazel run around outside, so it was so nice to be able to just let her go outside when she was getting antsy. Also, the beach is literally steps from the front door, talk about a dream. We spent most of our time just sitting on the sand and watching Hazel get more and more comfortable every day. It was so good for her to just be free and explore. The beach wasn't overrun with people or tourists, it was so quiet and peaceful.

This beautiful misty beach was just across the street from the house! We spent most of our days here, but also an afternoon at Cannon Beach which is a (stunning) 20-minute drive up the very scenic coastal highway! We had such good fish and chips, of course, checked out the famous pink candy store too! Another gorgeous beach is Arcadia Beach Park, much quieter and had gorgeous big rocks and eagles soaring around, I don't think you can really go wrong with an Oregon Coast Beach!

The sunsets every night were just gorgeous, there's something so magical about being on the coast and watching the sun just slowly dissolve into the sea.

You can find more info on renting this house here! There are 4 homes owned by Kim and her husband, she built on her father's dream of having a beachside house on the Oregon Coast and now owns four gorgeous homes all with a character of their own! One of her homes can fit up to 20 people, I'm hoping to one day stay there with a big group of friends.

Day Trip to Palm Springs

Tegan and I enjoyed our stay in Joshua Tree SO much, but we were also excited to run off to Palm Springs for the day after seeing Local Wanderer post about all the incredible shops. We had been to Palm Desert quite a lot as a family growing up, but never really experienced Palm Springs. Taylor and Elaine of LW definitely redefined how we viewed it, and we had a ton of fun driving around.

We had to visit  "That Pink Door" on this cute and iconic Palm Springs home, it even has its own hashtag! #thatpinkdoor

We couldn't help but drive through all the adorable neighbourhoods, stopping and going, taking tons of photos of each adorable house. It just blew our mind that they all had cacti as their garden plants. What even, how perfect. Our version of this is a tiny ceramic bowl filled with baby cacti sitting on our coffee table, so this.. this was a dream.

We ate at Cheeky's restaurant and visited a few shops nearby that LW posted about - if you are visiting Palm Springs, be sure to check out their full city guide here.
